As both the capital of Greece and the heart of the Ancient Greek Empire, Athens is the perfect yachting destination for solo travelers, as well as for those traveling with family and friends. Stretching from Piraeus, the bustling port of Athens, to the Peloponnese, Greece's southern mainland peninsula, the surrounding region is a yachting paradise.

Start your yachting adventure at the Athens port and set sail for the neighboring island of Aegina, home to the ancient Temple of Aphaia, which is older than the Pantheon in Athens. Spend a day at Sarpa Beach or Agistri for a picture-perfect beach experience.

While Athens has evolved into a bustling, cosmopolitan city, it retains elements of its ancient glory. It is an ideal starting point if you charter a yacht in Greece and is perfect for exploring ancient sites and monuments. Greece boasts more than 2,000 islands scattered across the Saronic Gulf.
